For over 35 years FGCB has been...
Helping young people realize a dream that often seemed out of reach:
Being the first in their families to receive a college education
Join us in our mission to provide essential support and resources for first-generation college students, helping them achieve their academic goals and transform their futures.
First Generation College Bound is a Poverty Solution Organization
FGCB is a community-based organization which offers youth and their families a “pipeline” of educational interventions comprising academic readiness, supportive services and guidance to achieve high school graduation, college admissions and earn a post-secondary degree.
The organization functions to address the need for “outside of school” and “college access supports” to increase the number of low-income students who graduate from high school prepared for college, enrolled in quality institutions and matriculate in four years.
Interview with FGCB CEO
Joseph Fisher
FGCB provides pathways through high school and into college for low to moderate-income, at-risk, underrepresented youth who attend Prince George’s County Public Schools. FBCB operates four core and interrelated programs that demonstrate best practices for increasing the high school graduation rate of at-risk students, ensuring their success in higher education.
