Ryane Boyd, Member Governance Committee

Ryane Boyd is a member of the Governance Committee for First Generation College Bound and the Associate Director of College Success for PrepNext, DC Prep’s alumni program. As a first generation college graduate, she can relate to the path her students are on and has spent over ten years in youth development and college access/retention, helping students find their way through it. Her work is grounded in holistic support and relationship-building, walking alongside her students to the finish line. That same commitment carries into her work beyond PrepNext, where she’s a member of NCAN and serves on their Advisory Task Force.  

Ryane holds a B.A. in English from The University of Missouri and an M.S.Ed. in Diversity and Equity in Education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. For her, serving on the FGCB board is a way of reaching back, because someone once did the same for her. 

Why I Serve:

“I was the student we serve, a first generation college student finding my way one question at a time until someone reached back and walked with me. Now, reaching back for the next student is the work I love most.”
