Joe Fisher, CEO & Founder

Joe Fisher is the Founder and CEO of First Generation College Bound. A first-generation college graduate who grew up in public housing in Washington, D.C., Joe founded FGCB in 1990 after witnessing firsthand the barriers many low-income students face in accessing higher education.

A former middle school teacher and longtime collegiate coach, Joe has dedicated his career to helping students not only enroll in college but graduate and build brighter futures for themselves and their families. Under his leadership, FGCB has supported generations of students in pursuing higher education and expanding opportunity in their communities.
