Serve on the FGCB Board of Directors
Serving on the FGCB Board of Directors means investing your leadership, experience, and voice in the future of first-generation students. We welcome inquiries from individuals who are passionate about educational opportunity and ready to contribute to strong governance, strategic growth, and expanding access to higher education. Please review the information below and submit your application by April 30 of each year. Hear directly from current board members about why they serve and what board leadership means to them.
Board Members are expected to:
- Attend regular board meetings
- Serve on at least one committee
- Make an annual financial contribution
- Support fundraising efforts
- Act as ambassadors for the organization
Who We’re Looking For
FGCB seeks individuals who:
- Are deeply committed to expanding college access and affordability for first-generation students
- Bring leadership experience in business, education, finance, policy, public relations, fundraising, or nonprofit governance
- Are willing to invest time, expertise, and personal networks to strengthen the organization
- Understand the importance of strategic oversight and fiduciary responsibility
- Value collaboration, accountability, and long-term impact
